Mission

The mission of the Sacramento SPCA is to foster a loving and compassionate community for animals and people by providing assistance, creating lifelong relationships and saving lives.

How Your Donation Helps

Cute-dog-runningSmallThe Sacramento Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) was established in 1894 and is dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of all animals in the Sacramento area. We provide a safe and
nurturing environment for unwanted, abandoned and mistreated pets until they can be placed into loving homes. Through proactive intervention, public education and community outreach, the Sacramento SPCA seeks to promote respect for all life by breaking the cycle of abuse, neglect and pet overpopulation in our communities.
These accomplishments happen without any government, state or city funding. The Sacramento SPCA is a local, independent non-profit organization and is supported through private contributions. Only you can provide a brighter future for Sacramento’s pets in need.
Depending on its resale value, just one donated vehicle can enable the Sacramento SPCA to spay/neuter, vaccinate, microchip and provide medical attention to more than a dozen dogs and cats prior to their adoption. The proceeds from a donated vehicle can make possible 20 Senior-for-Senior fee-waived adoptions, guaranteeing a lifetime of companionship for both a senior citizen AND an older cat or dog. One donated vehicle can provide quality care and basic veterinary treatment for 15 dogs while they await adoption into permanent, loving homes. One vehicle makes a world of difference to a homeless animal.

The Sacramento SPCA has had a vehicle donation program for more than eight years. With the help of this successful program, the SPCA is able to care for 7,000 homeless animals each year; our surgeons are able to provide more than 20,000 high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries annually; we offer a variety of humane education programs to children from throughout Sacramento County; and we provide programs and services designed to keep seniors and their pets together for life.
The SPCA’s vehicle donation program is vital to our mission of providing compassionate care to the animals who need us most. Please consider donating your vehicle to the Sacramento SPCA today. Your generous donation will be put to use caring for homeless animals before they are placed into loving homes, and providing a variety of affordable programs and services designed to help both animals and people in our community.
